Independent Study of PrinterLogic Customers Says 9 Out of 10 Rate Us Great or Better

Posted by Andrew Miller

If you’re one of the many IT professionals who has stopped by our booth at a tradeshow, you know that we can talk all day about PrinterLogic. It’s hard not to. There are so many proven benefits to implementing our print management solution—ease of use, security, ongoing cost savings, more efficient management, satisfied end-users and admins (to name only a few)—that it takes time to convey exactly how quickly and profoundly PrinterLogic can transform your print environment for the better.

Of course, we know we’ve got an uphill battle. Print servers have been the default print management solution for so long that many organizations have simply learned to suffer with their shortcomings. When we tell them that PrinterLogic is truly easy to deploy, really does empower end-users with an intuitive self-service portal, and actually makes print management effortless, we’re working against decades of negative experience that says enterprise printing will never be anything but an expensive headache.

So maybe it’s time for us to take a step back and let our customers do the talking.

For a while now the independent research firm TechValidate has been conducting unbiased anonymous surveys with verified PrinterLogic customers from all backgrounds. Some are small businesses. Some are large enterprises. Some operate in the field of construction. Others are involved in education, retail, financial services, government or utilities. Some have only one site, whereas others are distributed regionally or even globally. The one thing they all have in common is that they’ve deliberately chosen PrinterLogic as their print management solution, often migrating away from flawed traditional solutions like print servers.

In a recent TechValidate survey (TVID:

66B-C59-ADA

), a diverse pool of 233 of these customers gave overwhelmingly positive ratings of PrinterLogic’s features. Those features included:

  • Printer driver management
  • Ease of deployment
  • Speed of deployment
  • Ease of use
  • Printing security

For every one of those features, between 92% and 99% of the respondents rated PrinterLogic as “Great” or better.

When it came to ease of use, nearly nine out of ten respondents rated PrinterLogic as “Excellent” or better—with more than half of that group awarding it the survey’s top rating of “Amazing.” PrinterLogic’s speed of deployment earned similar marks: 87% of the respondents categorized it as “Excellent” or better. Not only did they state that PrinterLogic’s deployment was fast, they also said it was incredibly easy. A full 85% of the respondents rated PrinterLogic’s ease of deployment as “Excellent” or higher, with a substantial portion of that percentage saying it was “Amazing.”

And printer driver management? PrinterLogic naturally scored well there too. Well over three-quarters of those surveyed rated PrinterLogic as “Amazing” or “Excellent.” In terms of printing security, PrinterLogic wowed 63% of the respondents, who reported their experience as “Excellent” or better. An additional 29% called it “Great.”

All these organizations—regardless of sector, regardless of size—now have a very different opinion of enterprise printing thanks to PrinterLogic. Our print management solution is the proof that you can regain control of your print environment quickly, reliably, easily and securely.

But you don’t have to take our word for it. Our customers will be happy to tell you themselves.

Industrial Manufacturing Company Reduces Print Management Costs by 90% by Using PrinterLogic

Posted by Andrew Miller

When organizations choose to migrate to PrinterLogic in place of their old printer management solution, they expect to see myriad benefits. Efficient centralized management from a single pane of glass. End-users who experience enhanced productivity thanks to an intuitive and ubiquitous self-service portal. Massive increases in printing up-time across the enterprise. Amazingly

easy mobile and BYOD printing

that requires no workarounds or special software clients.

The vast majority of PrinterLogic customers end up seeing far more benefits than that. Take the most recent example: an industrial manufacturing company spanning more than six different locations that had under 50 network printers and fewer than five print servers prior to installing PrinterLogic.

According to a case study conducted by the independent research firm TechValidate (TVID: 675-214-58B), this company wanted to accomplish the following by moving to our direct IP print management solution:

  • Manage drivers with greater efficiency
  • Deploy printers without resorting to time-consuming scripts and group policy objects (GPOs)
  • Simplify printing for mobile/BYOD users as well as guests
  • Make printer installation more accessible to the end-user
  • Increase the availability and reliability of print services enterprise-wide
  • Centralize the management of print queues

The company achieved all those goals, resulting in an enterprise print environment that was more feature-rich and robust—yet also more transparent and easier to use for admins as well as end-users. “PrinterLogic simplified the management of printer installs, enabling our end-users to manage what printers they need, even when they go to a new location,” said a senior IT architect at the company.

Had the advantages stopped there, this industrial manufacturing company would likely still have been satisfied. But what sets

PrinterLogic

apart is the magnitude and reach of its advantages. It didn’t just reduce the time that the company’s IT department was spending on print management, it reduced it by an astounding 90%. To put that in some perspective, for every ten hours spent on print management before PrinterLogic, the company now needs only one.

The number of calls to the service desk regarding print-related issues fell by the same incredible amount, and the remote server infrastructure shrank by 90% as well. That in turn drove down the costs associated with those areas. The company recouped its initial outlay on PrinterLogic in less than three months and ultimately saw a return on investment (ROI) of more than 400%! Better still, it took the company under a day to fully install PrinterLogic across the enterprise.

When it comes to print management solutions, results like these put PrinterLogic in a league of its own—something this industrial manufacturing company was quick to recognize. Asked to rate PrinterLogic relative to solutions promising similar functionality, the company said PrinterLogic was “far superior” in every respect, namely:

It’s case studies like this one that highlight not only the quantity of improvements that PrinterLogic brings to any print environment but also the quality of those improvements.

Medium-Enterprise Agriculture Company Rates PrinterLogic Excellent and Achieves 100% ROI in Less Than a Year

Posted by Andrew Miller

There’s a common need that transcends an organization’s industry, size and IT requirements: the need to print. That’s as true for companies providing financial and legal services as it is for those that operate in the agricultural sector. And with the need to print comes the need for an efficient, reliable print environment that is hardy enough to handle the toughest printing demands day after day while being flexible enough to accommodate future change. That’s why so many organizations that are looking for a better print management solution turn to PrinterLogic.

The independent research firm TechValidate was curious to see whether PrinterLogic was meeting the expectations of one medium-enterprise agriculture company and the challenges of its print environment, so it recently produced a case study (TVID: 7DC-F71-277) about the experience.

Whereas most of our customers choose to implement PrinterLogic to

eliminate print servers

and their attendant costs, this company had used a direct IP solution before implementing PrinterLogic. Yet its IT team still wanted to be able to:

  • Manage all the networked printers centrally and more efficiently
  • Simplify routine printer installation for end users of all skill levels
  • Deploy printers without having to deal with time-consuming

scripting and group policy objects (GPOs)

This company had fewer than 250 network printers, but these devices were spread across 13 sites. That made centralized administration and user self-service—PrinterLogic’s forte—all the more important.

It took only one day for this medium-enterprise agriculture company to fully install PrinterLogic throughout the entire organization. After just twelve months, the savings associated with PrinterLogic had paid for the cost of its implementation, and the return on investment (ROI) since then has far exceeded 100%.

As proof of PrinterLogic’s far-reaching effects, those savings were derived from several aspects of the overall print environment. The company estimated a 15% reduction in all of the following areas:

  • Time spent managing printers across the enterprise
  • Print consumables such as toner and paper
  • Overall printer downtime
  • Calls to the service desk on print-related matters

The last point left the biggest impression on the company. When asked how PrinterLogic had transformed the print environment for the better, a spokesperson said, “It has cut down on IT having to help users add a printer when they go to one of our 13 locations. Those calls have stopped.”

That explains why this medium-enterprise agriculture company had such high ratings for PrinterLogic right across the board. Our print management solution earned a solid “excellent” in every single one of the following categories:

  • Printer driver management
  • Ease of deployment
  • Speed of deployment
  • Ease of use
  • Printing security

Results like these indicate one thing: Regardless of your organization’s size or sector, if you have a need to print, you have a need for PrinterLogic’s cost- and resource-saving print management.

Large Enterprise Construction Company Reduces Printer Install and Set up Time from Hours to Seconds

Posted by Andrew Miller

PrinterLogic allowed this large-enterprise construction company to hit those targets with just one powerful print management solution. By the company’s own assessment, it succeeded in reducing each of the following by a staggering 70%:

  • Time spent on print management
  • Print-related calls to the service desk
  • Printer downtime

“The time spent setting up and installing printers at a local level was reduced to seconds instead of hours,” said a company representative. That’s what keeps contributing to such phenomenal ROI.

How much of any construction company is built on paper? The contracts, the invoices, the schedules, the blueprints—so much essential business depends on a material renowned for its thinness than its space-age composition or load-bearing ratio.

That’s why construction companies take their print environments so seriously, and an increasing number of them are growing dissatisfied with the frustrations and limitations of traditional print management solutions. The independent research firm TechValidate set out to speak with PrinterLogic customers in this field to determine how our forward-thinking print management solution was working for them. One TechValidate case study of a large-enterprise construction company (TVID: D85-5A7-005) shows just how effective PrinterLogic has been.

This large-enterprise construction company had a suitably large print environment to match: a total of 1,000 to 2,500 networked printers across more than 100 physical locations. By installing PrinterLogic enterprise-wide, the company wanted to achieve many of the goals we frequently hear from prospective customers, namely:

  • Implementing a simple, efficient and centralized method of managing drivers and printers
  • Simplifying routine printer installation for end-users
  • Providing high availability for enterprise print services by reducing points of failure
  • Improving visibility into the status of physical printers

PrinterLogic allowed this large-enterprise construction company to hit those targets with just one powerful print management solution. By the company’s own assessment, it succeeded in reducing each of the following by a staggering 70%:

  • Time spent on print management
  • Print-related calls to the service desk
  • Printer downtime

The company recouped the entirety of its investment in PrinterLogic within six months. But the return on investment (ROI) didn’t end there. The total ROI has already amounted to more than 400%—a percentage that’s still climbing with every end user who installs his or her own printer without calling the service desk, or every hour that’s saved through PrinterLogic’s effortless print management.

“The time spent setting up and installing printers at a local level was reduced to seconds instead of hours,” said a company representative. That’s what keeps contributing to such phenomenal ROI.

What’s even more astounding is that there were no expensive and problematic print servers to eliminate. This company had a direct IP print environment before implementing PrinterLogic. And yet the improvements the company experienced with PrinterLogic were so great that it still rated our solutions as “amazing” in speed of deployment and “excellent” in three separate areas: printer driver management, ease of deployment, and ease of use.

Construction companies might be built on paper, but the really successful ones use PrinterLogic as their foundation.

Users and Admins “Love” PrinterLogic Print Management Solution says Large Financial Services Company

Posted by Andrew Miller

A few months ago the independent research firm, TechValidate, sat down with representatives of a large-enterprise financial services company to see how they were getting on after installing PrinterLogic. The resulting case study (TVID: D0F-F5B-573) shows not only how ambitious the company’s goals were but also how PrinterLogic helped to realize them in full.

This financial services company had no fewer than ten major aspects of its print environment it wanted to address with PrinterLogic. It aimed to:

  • Centralize its print queue management
  • Consolidate its server infrastructure
  • Make printer installation simpler and more accessible for end users
  • Simplify printing in Citrix/VDI sessions
  • Ensure high availability for its enterprise print services
  • Manage Direct IP printing
  • Find an easy and efficient way to manage printer drivers
  • Improve the visibility into physical printer status (via SNMP)
  • Deploy printers without the need for scripts and group policy objects (GPOs)
  • Secure printer access and implement pull printing

What’s more, the company wanted to achieve all these goals in a sizable print environment that comprised over 500 networked printers and 150+ print servers, and was spread across more than 100 sites.

After installing PrinterLogic in just five days, this financial services company achieved every single one of those targets through PrinterLogic’s systematic streamlining of print management enterprise-wide. Here are just a few of the specific results:

  • Print-related service desk calls plunged by 70.
  • The company’s remote server infrastructure also shrank by 70%.
  • Time spent on print management was cut by 50%.
  • Printer downtime was reduced by nearly one-third.
  • Usage of print consumables was down 15%.

“PrinterLogic simplified the complicated print server setup we had and made printing as easy as a simple click. Users and admins love it. It just works,” said a company representative.

The organization went on to rate PrinterLogic as “great” in terms of printer driver management and printing security, and “excellent” in terms of ease of deployment, speed of deployment, and ease of use.

And this large enterprise financial services company didn’t just scratch off every item from its print management wish list—it saved money too. PrinterLogic had fully paid for itself by the six-month mark, and the return on investment (ROI) since then has been more than 100%.

Users No Longer Afraid of Printing After Large Bank Deploys PrinterLogic Print Management Solution

Posted by Andrew Miller

Companies in the financial sector know a thing or two about return on investment (ROI). The very nature of their business is predicated on looking at several different options and figuring out where money is most likely to generate more money—for themselves as well as their customers.

So when it came time for a large-enterprise banking company to put its money toward a new print management solution, which solution do you think it chose?

The independent research firm TechValidate recently surveyed this company to see if its investment in PrinterLogic had been as successful as it had hoped. The resulting case study (TVID: AFD-A01-6BD) affirms that it definitely was.

This particular large-enterprise banking company had between 1,000 and 2,500 network printers in its environment. These devices were distributed across as many as 25 sites. To accommodate that arrangement, the company was using a minimum of 26 print servers to manage its print environment. But print servers, as we know, can be inefficient and costly. So this company began looking at PrinterLogic as a way to:

  • Deploy printers without requiring scripting and group policy objects (GPOs)
  • Consolidate server infrastructure enterprise-wide
  • Manage drivers simply and quickly
  • Simplify routine printer installation for its end users

It took just five days for this large-enterprise banking company to fully install PrinterLogic across the entire organization. And it just kept getting better from there. The company completely recovered its investment in PrinterLogic within three months. The reason for that rapid ROI came down to the following:

  • Its remote server infrastructure shrank by 70%
  • The time it was spending on print management also dropped by 70%
  • Print-related calls to the service desk were cut in half
  • Its usage of print consumables fell by 15%

Yet all those reductions amounted to much, much more savings over time. At the time of the TechValidate survey, this company had seen ROI of more than 300% after implementing PrinterLogic’s print management solution. It doesn’t take a financial whiz to know that’s the kind of return that would make any investor proud.

It makes sense, then, that this large-enterprise banking company would rate PrinterLogic enthusiastically. In terms of printer driver management, ease of deployment, speed of deployment and ease of use, it gave PrinterLogic an unqualified “amazing” across the board. When it came to printing security, PrinterLogic earned a “great.”

One company representative said, “Users are not afraid of printing any more”—all thanks to PrinterLogic. So ROI is one thing, but conquering users frustration and apprehension toward enterprise printing? You might say that’s priceless.

Federal Agency Seamlessly Manages its More than 5,000 Printers with PrinterLogic

Posted by Andrew Miller

If ever there were a testament to PrinterLogic’s incredible scalability, it would be the case study of a federal government agency carried out by the independent research firm TechValidate (TVID: 9B7-248-E75).

This agency had more than 5,000 networked printers and over 100 print servers before installing PrinterLogic across its 100+ sites. With a hardware count and distributed environment like that, you can imagine the massive logistical implications that any change to its enterprise print backbone would have.

And yet this federal government agency was able to fully install PrinterLogic and begin eliminating its 100+ print servers in just one month. That had immediate and lasting benefits, such as:

  • The number of calls to the service desk regarding print-related issues dropped by 70%.
  • The time the agency spent on print management was slashed by 50%.
  • Usage of print consumables such as toner and paper were also cut by half.
  • Printer downtime fell by 30%.
  • The agency’s remote server infrastructure experienced a 15% reduction.

Those reductions corresponded to quantifiable, real-world cost savings. This federal government agency was able to completely recoup its investment in PrinterLogic within 18 months. Everything since then has been a bonus—to the tune of a whopping 400% return on investment (ROI). On the way to achieving such stunning cost efficiencies, PrinterLogic enabled the organization to do everything it had set out to do, namely:

  • Consolidate its server infrastructure through centralized print management
  • Radically simplify the printer installation process for end users
  • Effortlessly manage Direct IP printing
  • Deploy printers easily and without having to resort to scripts and group policy objects (GPOs)

Agency representatives were especially impressed with this last point. “PrinterLogic makes deploying printers simple,” they said in a short-but-sweet testimonial. They were so impressed, in fact, that they also rated PrinterLogic as “excellent” across the board. Broken down, that means our enterprise print management solution scored top marks in terms of:

  • Printer driver management
  • Ease of deployment
  • Speed of deployment
  • Ease of use
  • Printing security

The federal government gets an awful lot of flack for not being cost-effective and streamlined enough. As this TechValidate case study shows, this particular agency is using PrinterLogic to address both in pretty significant ways.

SMB Financial Services Company Sees Print Management Time Decrease by 90% with PrinterLogic

Posted by Andrew Miller

“We are a growing company and expanding fast,” said a spokesperson for a small-business financial services company. “We needed an efficient and fast printer solution.”

So naturally they chose PrinterLogic.

Some time later, the independent research firm TechValidate followed up with them to conduct a case study (TVID: 522-2E0-1DA) on the company’s experience with its new print management solution. Was it as efficient and as fast as they had hoped?

“PrinterLogic fit our needs and exceeded our expectations,” said the representative.

Actually, that positive impression was formed right from the beginning, when the company fully installed PrinterLogic within just five days. That was no tiny print environment, either. It comprised as many as 249 networked printers and more than 26 print servers, all distributed across under 25 sites.

Then the real-world results started to roll in. End-user printer installation was radically simplified through PrinterLogic’s intuitive self-service portal. The server infrastructure shrank—along with the resources devoted to maintaining it. Print queue management suddenly became easier, as did printer driver management, thanks to PrinterLogic’s centralized, at-a-glance administration that makes print servers obsolete. Printers could now be deployed individually or en masse, manually or automatically, and without the need for cumbersome scripts or group policy objects (GPOs). Printer access was secured and convenient pull-printing functionality was implemented. Print-related WAN traffic was slashed through PrinterLogic’s common-sense features.

Here are some of the cost- and time-saving reductions in hard figures:

  • Time spent on print management was diminished by 90%.
  • The remote server infrastructure shrank by 90% too.
  • Calls to the service desk on print-related issues fell by 70%.
  • Company-wide usage of print consumables was reduced by 30%.
  • Printer downtime also dropped 30%, increasing overall productivity.

Those percentages meant big returns on investment (ROI). The payback period after installing PrinterLogic was less than three months, and the benefits didn’t stop there. The total ROI since that time has been over 100%.

This small business financial service company was so thrilled with PrinterLogic’s performance that it rated the print management solution as “excellent” in every single available category. Specifically:

  • Printer driver management
  • Ease of deployment
  • Speed of deployment
  • Ease of use
  • Printing security

With such a fast and efficient print management solution, it should be no surprise that this company continues to expand quickly and efficiently.

PrinterLogic “Frees” Mid-sized Energy Company from the Horrors of Print-related Service Desk Calls

Posted by Andrew Miller

We often highlight PrinterLogic as an excellent way to eliminate the headache, hassle, and high ongoing costs of print servers. But the truth is that it’s possible to experience the same amazing day-to-day benefits and overall return on investment (ROI) even when installing PrinterLogic in existing direct-IP enterprise printing environments.

A great example is the case study of the medium-enterprise energy and utilities company conducted by the independent research firm TechValidate (TVID: 518-7B9-CD5). Before installing PrinterLogic, the company had between 50 and 249 network printers distributed across fewer than five sites in a print environment that was entirely direct IP.

Yet, even without print servers, the company still faced serious printing challenges and situations that were less than optimal. End-user printer installation was unnecessarily complicated. Printers could not be deployed efficiently and still required problematic scripts or group policy objects (GPOs). It was also difficult to manage printers effectively across the entire company.

It took this medium-sized energy and utilities company less than one day to completely install PrinterLogic, and problems like these were solved almost immediately. That probably explains why company representatives rated PrinterLogic as “amazing” in every one of these areas:

  • Printer driver management
  • Ease of deployment
  • Speed of deployment
  • Ease of use
  • Printing security

When it came to costs, the company fully recouped its initial investment in PrinterLogic within six months. At the time of the TechValidate case study, its overall return on investment (ROI) since installing PrinterLogic had exceeded 200%—and benefits like the following are still contributing to the company’s continuing long-term ROI:

  • A 90% reduction in the time spent on print management.
  • Printer downtime has been slashed by half.
  • Print-related calls to the service desk have been cut by 30%.
  • The company’s remote server infrastructure has been slimmed by 30%.
  • A 30% drop in the usage of print consumables (e.g., toner, paper) across the entire company.

“[PrinterLogic] has freed my technicians’ time to resolve problems other than printer problems,” said a representative for this energy and utilities company. “We can deploy new printers much more quickly.”

That sounds remarkably similar to testimonials for current PrinterLogic customers who previously relied on print servers. It just goes to show you that PrinterLogic can bring about the same phenomenal time- and cost-saving results in any print environment.

Government Organization Deploys PrinterLogic in Less than 24 Hours

Posted by Andrew Miller

When government organizations are looking to solidify and streamline, more and more of them are making PrinterLogic their first port of call. That’s because PrinterLogic helps them address the many printing challenges that are part and parcel of their sector, such as:

  • Massive volumes of day-to-day paperwork, including printing forms and letters
  • Regular printing of documents in various sizes
  • Critical need for high availability and reliability of print services around the clock
  • High printer-to-employee ratios coupled with hierarchies and micro-organization
  • Different departments with widely varying demands under the same roof
  • Workforces that can change depending on the sociopolitical climate
  • Continual emphasis on cost-cutting and fiscal accountability

With the scope and intricacy of all these demands in mind, the independent research firm TechValidate decided to survey a group of PrinterLogic government customers (TVID: 487-1D2-1AC) on one crucial aspect common to all their print environments—that is, speed of deployment when migrating to PrinterLogic as their new print management solution.

The question TechValidate put to them was this: How many days of dedicated time did it take to get the solution installed?

An impressive 65% of the organizations surveyed reported that they had fully installed PrinterLogic in under five days. Of that number, 30% stated that they completely installed PrinterLogic throughout their organization in less than 24 hours.

What’s even more impressive is that a staggering 80% of these governmental organizations deployed PrinterLogic in ten days or less. That lightning-quick speed of deployment is almost unheard of for enterprise print management solutions, especially when you keep in mind that this survey took governmental organizations of all shapes and sizes into account—including those with hundreds of networked printers to migrate, not to mention dozens of print servers to be eliminated.

The thing about such rapid real-world speed of deployment is that it shows these governmental organizations were able to transition to a simpler, more powerful, more centralized, and more cost-effective print management solution in practically no time at all. That meant less time spent in the inefficient limbo between two enterprise-level printing solutions, and more time experiencing the benefits of PrinterLogic, such as comprehensive auditing, rock-solid reliability, effortless printer deployment, and easy management of printers, drivers and queues.

We don’t always associate government with speed, but thanks to PrinterLogic, organizations like these are proving stereotypes wrong. PrinterLogic’s amazing speed of deployment is just the first swift step on their way to a more cost-effective, productivity-enhancing print environment.

TechValidate Case Study: Speed of Deployment: Government
